EAC’s SBDC to host Graham County DreamBuilder kick-off

By Erin Larson

THATCHER — Eastern Arizona College’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host the Graham County DreamBuilder kick-off meeting Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, from 10 a.m. to noon, in the EAC Academic Programs Building, room #118.

DreamBuilder, funded by Freeport-McMoRan Inc. and created by the ASU Thunderbird School, is a unique, online business training program designed for women to assist them in starting, or growing, their own business.  The online courses walk participants through the basics of starting a business while simultaneously building a business plan.

“We held our first round of DreamBuilder in Greenlee County this last year and had a blast,” said SBDC analyst, Charmaine Chidester. “I was impressed with the program itself and the regular workshops gave the women a great support group to share ideas and comments.”

The online courses will be supplemented with workshops, taught by Chidester, at EAC twice monthly, starting in January and ending in early May.

“This first meeting is to introduce the program and start those interested on the first few courses,” Chidester said. “While the program is designed for women, men will also find the curriculum challenging and are welcome to attend.”

Both the online course and supplemental workshops are free.  Registration for the kick-off meeting is encouraged and can be completed by calling (928) 428-8590, or by emailing charmaine.chidester@eac.edu.
