Molly Gallegos Ortiz

Molly Gallegos Ortiz, a cherished resident of Safford, gracefully entered into eternal rest Wednesday afternoon, April 17, 2024, at the HonorHealth Scottsdale Thompson Peak Medical Center, surrounded by her loved ones, after bravely confronting a decline in health. She was 89 years old.

Molly’s vibrant spirit and zest for life will forever be treasured by those who knew her. She will be fondly remembered for her unwavering love of dance, her infectious laughter that could light up any room, and funny jokes that brought joy to all who shared her company. Her culinary skills were renowned, especially her delectable salsa and mouthwatering cornbread, which will be missed by many.

Beyond her talents in the kitchen and her ability to bring smiles to faces, Molly will be remembered most for her boundless love and generosity. Her caring nature touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Molly is survived by: her sister, Frances Abalos; her sons, John Luis Ortiz (Teri), Robert Anthony Ortiz, Sr.; her daughters, Virginia Rebecca Ortiz, Christine Marie McGee, and Alicia Renee Montanez (Ramon); fifteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Molly was preceded in death by: her parents, Francisco and Dominga (Arrellin) Gallegos; her siblings, Georgetta Tellez, Margaret Dominguez, Janie Gallegos, Nester Baker, Joe Gallegos, and Tommy Gallegos.

Funeral services to honor and celebrate Molly’s life will be conducted Saturday afternoon, May 11, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at Vining Funeral Home’s “Chapel of the Valley”. Following the service, concluding rites will take place at the Safford Cemetery.

Those who wish to pay their respects and offer condolences to Molly’s family are invited to gather at the funeral home on Saturday afternoon, May 11, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until the start of the service at 1:00 p.m.

Molly’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched with her warmth and kindness. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love she so freely shared with the world.
