Mexican trade through Cochise County down in ‘23

SIERRA VISTA — The value of trade going through the two international ports of entry in Cochise County was down by double digits in 2023.

That’s according to data released Tuesday by the Southeast Arizona Economic Development Group.

Combined value of exports and imports with Mexico, going through the Douglas and Naco ports of entry, totaled $2.2 billion in 2023, down 14.3 percent from 2022.

American exports took the biggest hit, down 17.6 percent to almost $926 million, while Mexican imports were down 11.7 percent, to $1.3 billion.
