SAFFORD — UFC lightweight Justin Gaethje will join with the Graham County Substance Abuse Coalition Saturday in helping area youths make healthy choices.

“We’re so excited about it,” said Kathy Grime, executive director for the Graham County Substance Abuse Coalition. “We have about 309 people — that we know of as of yesterday — registered for our event. The youngest being 2 and the oldest being 61 years old.”

Gaethje will conduct a special workout and talk about accomplishing personal goals Saturday, May 22, from 9-11 a.m., at the Graham County Fairgrounds soccer fields.

“We want to launch a drug free, alcohol free summer for our youths in Graham County,” Grimes said. “We want to get them moving toward a positive summer; we want to give them positive things to do. We have some other things planned but the highlight is Justin Gaethje.”

Cost for children to attend is $5. Pre-registration is at Farmer’s Insurance, 610 W. Main St., in Safford; and Lee’s Rite Way, 2910 U.S. Highway 70, Unit B, in Thatcher; and day of registration will be accepted.
