EAC’s Discovery Park Campus is offering a 1/2 credit class: AST-127 “Operating the Gov Aker Observatory Telescope.” The course will be instructed by Mr. Bob Hiatt, member of the Desert SkyGazers Astronomy Club and operator of the 20″ GAO Telescope at the EAC Discovery Park Campus.
The class will meet at the Discovery Park Campus:
Thursday, September 5th from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Friday, September 6th from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
We all enjoy going out in the evening and looking at the beautiful twinkling stars, but now you can observe them individually at 154 times magnification! Take advantage of this exciting “hands on the telescope” opportunity to lean about the different types of telescopes and how they work, and more importantly how to operate the amazing 20″ Tinsley Telescope at the Gov Aker Observatory.
