THATCHER — Valley Telecom is ready to expand internet service in the Gila Valley.
“Our construction officially starts Monday, May 17, a week from today, and we’re very excited to get that rolled out to the entire Town of Thatcher,” said Valley Telecom’s Bob Dahlstrom. “Think about the scope of that project; that is 108 miles of fiber we’ll be putting in the ground throughout Thatcher to feed every home and every business.”
Dahlstrom said the contractor performing the majority of construction work — Mears Group — has committed to hiring locally, conducting a job fair at Arizona @ Work on Monday, May 10 for both construction and administrative positions.
It’s expected to take about 10 months to complete the roll-out, with completion expected in mid March 2022.
