SAFFORD — The chance to take home a piece of the 2020 Safford Spring Festival is now available.

An online auction of the 15 art pieces created in the inaugural Graffiti Art Contest is live.

“It’s nice having outsiders come in and also having Safford willing to have this kind of artwork,” said Joe Roaneagle, who organized the contest. “It also gives artists a chance to get their artwork out there.”

Roaneagle was also the artist of the murals at Sarah’s Bull Pen and 19 Double X Studios.

To bid on any of the artwork, go to https://www.biddingowl.com/saffortartauction.

Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Safford Downtown Association, which promotes businesses in Safford’s Downtown area — which runs from Victory Fellowship Theater on the east to Dairy Queen on the west, and the north side of U.S. Highway 70 to the railroad tracks paralleling 8th Street on the south — as well as stage events such as Merry Main Street and the annual Holiday Light Parade.

The Downtown Association is also spearheading the rebuilding of the historic Safford Theater on Main Street.
