SAFFORD — A group unhappy with Graham County’s decision to require face coverings in public is planning to protest that decision.
Using Facebook, under the group We’ve Had Enough: Gila Valley Mask Mandate, residents who oppose a face covering requirement have called for a protest outside the Graham County Chamber of Commerce building on Saturday.
“Here’s the issue. The state can try all they want to shut down businesses. But if we band together as a community, they cannot. If they have nobody to enforce the shut down, there is nothing that can be done. Mask, no mask, doesn’t matter. Personal choice and the respect to our local small businesses is what matters,” one group member said.
The protest is tentatively set to begin between 9 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.
