SAFFORD — Long before the pandemic made its way to Graham County, the Gila Valley Ministerial Association offered ashes on Ash Wednesday via drive-through service.
The imposition of ashes via drive-through will continue this year, as the Gila Valley Ministerial Association will set up at the corner of 8th Street and 20th Avenue in Safford on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17.
The drive-through imposition of ashes will take place from 7 a.m. to noon and clergy will wear masks and gloves. Those receiving ashes are asked to remain in their vehicles.
