PHOENIX – Arizona Department of Health Services has confirmed a second Arizonan has died as a result of the COVID-19 virus.
The victim was a Maricopa County resident, a 70-year-old male with underlying health conditions.
To date, there have been 234 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Arizona, with two in Graham County and one in nearby Cochise County.
COVID-19 spreads through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Symptoms are thought to appear 10 to 14 days after a person is exposed. Symptoms can include fever, cough, runny nose and shortness of breath.
