SAFFORD — There’s one more chance for children to talk with Santa, as well as receive an early Christmas present.
The American Legion and Legion Auxiliary are hosting the annual Community Christmas Party on Saturday, Dec. 23, from noon to 4 p.m.
This year, due to demand, the party has moved from the Legion to the Ag Building at Graham County Fairgrounds.
“These last few years, it’s gotten bigger and bigger, and last year it just mushroomed,” said Kat Sticklin with the Auxiliary. “There’s a lot of children in need.”
In addition to visiting with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and receiving a gift, the children can partake in crafts, a coloring contest, karaoke, a fishing pond and a cornhole tournament. Plus there will be face painting; temporary tattoos; and hot dogs, chips and soda for every child.
Toys are being provided by Toys for Tots as well as local motorcycle riders who conduct a toy run for the Legion every year.
There is no cost to attend, and everyone is welcome. The Legion is asking for volunteers to help.
