SAN CARLOS — San Carlos Apache Police reported recently dealing with a pair of shooting incidents.
On Dec. 1, reports came in of people shooting at each other in the Gilson Wash area. There were no injuries in the incident.
One suspect in the shooting was identified as V’shonn Sonny Gilson, also known as V’shonn Fuentes or “E.T.” Gilson, 20, fled the scene but was captured by San Carlos Police two days later.
Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
On Dec. 3, while San Carlos Fire Department was working to extinguish a blaze in the 7-Mile area, a man fired a weapon at a San Carlos Apache Police truancy officer.
The officer was unharmed and the unidentified suspect was taken into custody.
“Shooting at law enforcement officers is a grave and reprehensible act that endangers the lives of those who dedicate themselves to protecting our communities. Such actions must be met with unwavering resolve to ensure that perpetrators are held accountable to the fullest extent of the law,” Police Chief Elliot Sneezy said on social media.
