THATCHER — The Town of Thatcher has rolled out a new video that explains what is being asked of voters on the issue of the town’s expenditure limitation.
Under Proposition 403 on the Nov. 3 General Election ballot, Thatcher voters will be being asked to raise the limit on how much the Town of Thatcher can spend in a fiscal year, from $2.6 million to $5.1 million.
“We can’t publically promote that, using town funds, but we can provide information,” said Town Manager Heath Brown.
The video, made with AI, explains the history of the state’s expenditure limit law, where the town is currently in relation to the formula, and why town officials are seeking voter approval of an increase.
The video can be found under the News heading on the town’s website, www.thatcher.az.gov, on the town’s social media, as the only video on the town’s new YouTube channel and below. It is not found on the town’s phone app.
Graham County is also seeking voter approval to increase its expenditure limit, under Proposition 404.
