SAFFORD — Graham County Health Department has updated its quarantine requirements, keeping pace with the most recent CDC guidelines.

In a release issued Friday, the Health Department said that, rather than waiting the full 14-day quarantine, adults can return to work, and children to school, in 10 days without testing if no symptoms have occurred.

The return can take place in seven days with a negative test taken no less than five days after the start of the quarantine.

In both cases, the person must continue to wear a mask through the full 14-day quarantine period, practice social distancing and continue to symptom monitor.

The Health Department also announced teen nights at the vaccination clinic on Main Street at Safford. Teens 12 to 18 who receive the Pfizer vaccine will receive a $5 Dairy Queen gift card upon receiving the first dose, and a free pizza on receiving the second dose.

Teen vaccination clinics take place Thursdays and Fridays, from 5-7:30 p.m.

The most recent release of data by the Health Department showed 21 new cases as of Thursday, bringing August’s total thus far to 210, just 32 behind the total number of cases in August 2020.

The total number of active cases in Graham County is 223.
