PIMA — The deadline to register for sports tournaments during Pioneer Days is fast approaching.
A pickleball tournament will take place July 24-25, from 6-9 a.m. each day, at the Safford High School tennis courts. Friday will feature mixed doubles play and Saturday will be for men’s and women’s doubles.
Cost to enter is $20 per team.
The three-on-three basketball tournament is $40 per team, and there will be three age categories — 17 and under, 14 and under, and 11 and under. Play will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 25, in the EAC, Thatcher High School and Safford High School gymnasiums.
Plus there will be free throw and 3-point shooting contests at the Thatcher Middle School Gyn. The contests are free to enter and open to all ages.
The co-ed volleyball tournament will take place Saturday, July 24, from 8 a.m. to noon, at the Safford High School gymnasium. There will be two divisions — Division A for skilled players and Division B for less competitive play.
Cost is $40 per team.
