TUCSON — Democratic challenger JoAnna Mendoza continues to raise more funds than Republican incumbent Juan Ciscomani in the race for Arizona’s 6th Congressional District, but Mendoza is also spending more.

According to the most recent filings with the Federal Elections Commission, Mendoza raised $2.02 million from April 1 to July 1, almost double the $1.09 million Ciscomani raised during the same time frame.

However, Ciscomani spent just $785,887.99 during the second quarter of the year, while Mendoza spent $2.3 million.

Mendoza has raised $7.4 million throughout the election cycle, and spent $4.1 million, resulting in $3.3 million cash on hand.

Neither candidate has a primary opponent and will face off, along with Libertarian Jereme Peters, in November.
