PIMA — Time is running out to register for the 2020 Pima Turkey Trot at the reduced rate.

“Our price change is going to be happening this week, so we’re encouraging everybody to hurry and get online and register,” said co-organizer Melinda Nelson.

The price is $10 per person until Wednesday, Nov. 18, when the price climbs to $15.

Pre-registration at www.pimaturkeytrot.com will run through Nov. 24 and there will be same-day registration at the event at Vard Roping Arena in Pima; however, same-day registrants will not be eligible to take part in the raffle.

The event raises money for Pima schools and, during the 15 years the 5k run and 1-mile fun run has taken place, organizers Nelson and Cody Marshall have been able to purchase a number of items needed by the schools — from Chrome Books for the classrooms to playground equipment for the elementary school.

Medals will be handed out to the top male and female finishers in nine different age groups, and the overall first male and female to cross will each receive a $50 cash prize. Plus the family with the most participants will receive a turkey.

Participants can pick up their race packet — including event T-shirt — Wednesday, Nov. 25, from 3-7 p.m., at the Pima school cafeteria, as well as the day of the race.

The event takes place Thursday, Nov. 26, with registration from 7-8 a.m., the 1-mile fun run starting at 8 a.m. and the 5k starting at 8:45 a.m.
