PIMA — On Tuesday, the Pima Town Council unanimously approved the tentative 2025-26 budget, but not before giving the OK to funding for four town organizations.

The council agreed to donate:

  • $500 to Discovery Plus Academy
  • $500 to Pima Turkey Trot
  • $500 to Dan Hinton Accommodation School
  • $3,000 to Eastern Arizona Museum and Historical Society

Museum officials said the funds would be used to purchase tables and chairs so the Wm. Carter Farm Museum building, which is currently under renovation, can also be used as an event space. Meanwhile Dan Hinton School is seeking to pave a sidewalk for wheelchairs from the road to the bus driveway.

Pima’s tentative budget is at $5 million, which is almost 21 percent higher than the current fiscal year.. The town is projecting slightly more than $1 million coming from grants, and the town will maintain a contingency balance of about $4 million.

Following adopting of the tentative budget, the council may remove any items from the budget but may not add anything. The council will be asked to approve the final budget at its July meeting.
