Paul Monje Palma

Paul Monje Palma, a long-time resident of Safford, age 72, unexpectedly passed on September 17, 2021, at the Mt. Graham Regional Medical Center.

Paul is survived by: his children, Aline Hernandez (Steven D. Hernandez), Frances Mendoza (Antonio Mendoza), Paul D. Palma (Alma Palma), Salina Palma, Nicos Palma, Ariel Palma; 18 grandkids, 6 great-grandkids and 16 nieces and nephews; brother, Daniel Palma; and sister, Sally Palma.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his sister, Frances Altamirano; brother, Manuel Palma; son-in-law, Steven D. Hernandez; and niece, Debbie McNett.

Paul was born in Morenci, AZ, to Ruben and Lucinda Palma. He moved to Safford as a young child with his family. Paul attended school in the Safford School District. He would marry Margaret Garrobo on March 31, 1973. Paul graduated from the Eastern Arizona College with a Business Administration Degree.

Paul had various hobbies which included panning for gold, gardening and cooking. Paul loved his Christian fellowship, and he loved his church. He always loved to spread the word of God. He was a great counselor and friend to a lot of people and he was loved beyond what words can say.

Funeral services for Paul will be conducted Friday, October 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., at the River Community Church (1726 S. 1st Ave., in Safford) by Pastor David Chapman. Concluding services will follow in the Safford Cemetery.

Family will receive friends Friday, October 1, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10: a.m., also at the church.
