KLONDYKE — Alcohol is believed to have played a role in the death of a Safford man Friday.
At about 11:50 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, Graham County Sheriff’s deputies were called out to Klondyke Road, just south of the Purple C Ranch, for an ATV accident. When deputies arrived, they found other riders performing CPR on the victim.
Witnesses said James M. Holguin, 26, and a passenger were traveling southbound when the vehicle left the dirt roadway and came to rest on its side, pinning Holguin.
Holguin was pronounced dead at the scene and the passenger declined medical attention.
Holguin’s body was transferred to Pima County Medical Examiner’s Officer for autopsy and investigation is ongoing; however, the Sheriff’s Office said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the incident
