PIMA — The Independence Day weekend wasn’t just about celebrating the founding of America and fireworks — the holiday also serves as a fund-raiser for the Eastern Arizona Museum and Historical Society.
All proceeds from Pima’s Fourth of July breakfast goes to the museum, and this year $800 was raised. Museum chair Clint Woods said that money will come in very handy due to ongoing improvements.
“We’ve currently got contractors working on a new electrical panel and AC for the old bank building, which is a huge improvement. So those funds are nice,” he said.
The museum recently improved the roof and installed a cooling system in the old drug store, allowing the museum to re-open to the public.
The museum is open Thursday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Volunteer and donations opportunities can be found at the museum.
