SAFFORD – One of Safford’s longest-running eating establishments is moving in a radical new direction.
The Manor House restaurant has been sold to the owners of Haralson Tire Pros & Auto Service.
In a prepared statement, Jon and Andy Haralson said the plan is expand Maverick Motorsports into that location.
“We were very happy to purchase The Manor House building from Dean and Mary Lou Kreig. We are grateful for their family’s time and contribution to our community over the years. I can remember going to eat at the original location with my dad (Jack Haralson) and uncle (Vernon Haralson), which was many years ago.
“We are planning to move Maverick Motorsports over, as it will provide much needed space and more. It is a beautiful facility with so many opportunities. At this point we are in the planning phase to find how we can best utilize the space.
“We are so appreciative of our community and look forward to serving you from a new location down the road.”
In a post to social media Monday, Manor House officials thanked the community for its support over the years.
“I don’t even know where to begin. My brothers and sisters and I grew up in the Manor House and, for 43 years, were surrounded by some of the most amazing people you could ever ask to know. Some were team members. some were customers, but most were called friends and family,” the post reads.
“An era for our family is coming to an end. We have passed the torch to someone new and are excited to see what new opportunities and excitement it brings to our community. We have enjoyed being part of the goings on of our valley, the fundraisers, the weddings, the wakes, the baby showers, the birthdays, the trainings, anniversaries, retirement parties and so much more. Thank you to our team members, our customers and our community. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.”
Manor House is now closed and there is no timeline yet on Maverick Motorsports will occupy the space.
Haralson Tire Pros & Auto Service has four locations – Safford, Morenci, Taylor and Lake Havasu City.
