Bluff Committee sells burgers

The Mares Bluff Veterans Memorial Committee is selling hamburgers on Thursdays as part of the weekly Farmers Market at the Old Clifton Train Depot. A hamburger is $6 and comes with a soda and chips. The money goes toward maintenance of the bluff memorial, particularly the cost of replacing flags that become wind-torn.

Legion has ‘Hamburger Sunday’

The American Legion Post #28 in Clifton holds its weekly “Hamburger Sunday” every week, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Legion Hall in Clifton. Cheeseburgers with all the fixings, chips and a soda are $6. Green chile on the burgers is optional and comes at no extra cost.

St. Mary’s, Sacred Heart host bingo

Bingo night at St. Mary’s Mission in Duncan is Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. For information on St. Mary’s bingo call 928-687-1655. Sacred Heart Parish in Clifton holds bingo Mondays at 6:30 p.m. at the parish center on North Coronado Boulevard (U.S. Highway 191). The parish hall is two doors down from Clifton Town Hall.

Morenci Lions meet twice monthly

The Morenci Lions Club meets at 7 p.m. on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the Lions Den. It is located next to the Morenci Schools cafeteria. The club is a community service organization. Those interested in learning what the Lions do for the community are welcome to attend.

Sirens being tested

The town of Clifton tests flood warning sirens the first Tuesday of the month at noon at midday and early evenings. The test is conducted monthly to ensure the sirens are in working order. The San Francisco River runs through the heart of town and Clifton is flood prone. For more information call Clifton Town Hall at 928-865-4146.

Clifton senior center offers meals

The SEACUS Clifton Senior Nutrition Center offers full service for senior citizen meals. Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Anyone 60 years or older may eat at the center. It is located in South Clifton at Laine Blvd and 4th St.

Clifton Social Club meets

The Clifton Social Club holds meetings the first and third Wednesdays of the month. The club is located on historic Chase Creek, directly across from The Greenlee County Historical Society Museum. Attend a meeting to inquire about membership.
