THATCHER — Eastern Arizona College’s Women’s Chorale performed three challenging pieces at the Fall Sing 2016 performance. One of those pieces was “Rain Come Down” by the famous choral composer, Shawn Kirchner.
Chase Moore, EAC’s conductor of Women’s Chorale, noticed in his research that Kirchner did not have an audio recording of “Rain Come Down” for women’s voices on his website. After a few exchanges of emails and help from local sound and recording technician, Nate DeRusha, EAC’s Women’s Chorale is happy to announce that they will be the initial musical example of this chorale piece on the composer’s website.
“I think [the] group, [the] soloists and [the] pianist captured the ‘spirit’ of the piece perfectly,” Kirchner said. “Such a good rendition, [it is] just the tempo I would have wanted if I was playing.”
Moore, along with the choir, look forward to having their recording take its place on Kirchner’s website.
“These ladies have embodied relentless positivity, superb choral sound, and mesmerizing stagecraft,” Moore said. “I could not be more proud of them!”
