Fort Thomas — The defending 1A Girl’s State Champion and #1 seed in this year’s tournament, Fort Thomas, wasted little time on Saturday en route to a 64-23 victory over #8 Desert Christian. The Fort moves their season record to 29-3. Their three regular season losses were to 2A #1 Pima, 3A #1 Thatcher and 3A #7 Holbrook.
Sophomore Jasmine Olivar led the Lady Apaches with 22 points. Fort Thomas made 11 3-pointers as a team and all 10 players scored.
Fort Thomas will head to Prescott Valley on Friday for a 10:30am game with #4 Leading Edge Academy inside Findlay Toyota Center. The Fort won the only regular season meeting between the two teams, 52-42.
The Championship game is schedule for 4pm on February 19th at Findlay Toyota Center.
