Flu cases on the rise in Graham County, dropped slightly in Greenlee

PHOENIX — Graham County had 109 confirmed cases of flu last week, while Greenlee County saw 40 new cases.

That’s according to data released Thursday by the Arizona Department of Health Services.

Graham’s 109 cases the week of Dec. 11 is a 38 percent increase over the previous week, and cases have been on the rise over the last three reporting periods, climbing from 16 the week of Nov. 20, to 48 the week of Nov. 27, to 79 the week of Dec. 4.

The 109 Dec. 11 cases bring the 2022-23 Influenza Season total in Graham County to 263 cases thus far. Of that, 219 are cases of Influenza A, two cases are Influenza B and 42 have not yet been identified.

Greenlee County’s 40 cases the week of Dec. 11 was a 9 percent drop from the previous week’s total of 44.

To date, Greenlee County has seen 165 cases this flu season thus far, with 161 cases of Influenza A, two cases of Influenza B and two not yet identified.
