SAFFORD — The National Weather Service is looking for help in detecting oncoming severe weather.
The National Weather Service will conduct Skywarn Spotter training Monday, June 3, at 6:30 p.m., at the Graham County General Services Building.
The training is free and helps residents identify thunderstorm characteristics, the different types of severe weather, weather safety and how to report when severe weather is in the area.
Spotters are needed in communities throughout Graham County, from Peridot to Solomon and south to Bonita, as well as Pima, Safford and Thatcher.
Established spotters who wish to review reporting procedures may get updates via a virtual session. Learn more at NWS Tucson Skywarn Spotter Training Schedule (weather.gov).
