Drivers . . . start your engines at the Clifton Hill Climb

CLIFTON — The Clifton Hill Climb is back, and seeking racers and sponsors.

The time-trial race up Ward Canyon will take April 30 and May 1, with racing each day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with a one-hour break for lunch. Spectators will be able to watch at the starting line, or via Facebook Live thanks to drones that will follow each car racing up the canyon.

At 5 p.m. Saturday, the annual Drivers Parade will take place up Coronado Boulevard to the American Legion, where the driver meet and greet with the public will take place.

The public is also invited to the Awards Banquet Sunday at 5 p.m., where trophies will be given to the drivers with the fastest time, slowest time and specialty car.

Pre-registration for drivers will be take place Thursday, April 28, from 4-8 p.m., at the Clifton Hotel; and tech inspections will take place Friday, April 29.
