SAFFORD —Safford Police are looking for two people who tried to pass counterfeit bills as a local store.
The manager of Walgreens said a Caucasian man tried to use a fake $100 bill on June 22 but the bill was spotted and the man used a proper $20 bill instead.
A few hours later a Caucasian woman used a fake $100 bill to purchase items. In that instance, the cashier did not notice the counterfeit bill.
Walgreens staff said they did not recognize either of the people who used the fake currency.
Safford Police continues to investigate and is reviewing the security footage.
