On April 27, 2023 at approximately 10:00 pm, Safford Police responded to Speedway, 300 E. Highway 70, in reference to a silent hold up alarm. Upon arrival, Officers were advised that two males entered the store, one of them armed with a gun, and demanded money from the cashier. The cashier complied and turned over the money. The two assailants took the money and left the store. Officers canvased the area, but were unable to locate the suspects.
Safford Police Officers and Detectives continued the investigation, locating persons of interest. One arrest was made for charges unrelated to the robbery. The investigation is ongoing.
