SAFFORD — American Legion Swift-Murphy Post 32 and the American Legion Riders are teaming up for the third annual Car and Bike Show Saturday to benefit Secret Soldiers.

Secret Soldiers lets active-duty military members stationed overseas know they are not forgotten by sending packages of everyday items men and women need — everything from deodorant and tooth paste to light snacks and reading material.

“We did 40 care packages last year, so I kind of want to double that this year,” said Secret Soldiers founder Nicole Bratlee. “That’s one of my goals. The first year we did 20, last year was 40, so keep on moving forward to help our active-duty military.”

All vehicles are eligible to participate in the Car and Bike Show and egistration starts at 9 a.m. and the raising of the flag with the Gila Valley Honor Guard will take place at 11 a.m. Judging will take place at 2 p.m.

There will also be raffles — including a 50-50 raffle — and food sales. Plus the American Legion is setting up a spot for youngsters to draw up cards to be included in the care packages.
