SAFFORD — Art will be the focus at the Safford City-Graham County Library over the next few weeks.

“We’re doing something this year called the Tiny Art Show,” said Library Supervisor Leslie Talley. “So starting June 20, anyone in the community, ages 8 and up, can come in and pick up a kit — it’s a little 2-inch canvas and some art supplies — and we want people to create their masterpiece. Whatever they want to use that fits on that 2-inch canvas and bring it back. And all through July we’ll have an art show, with art made by the community.”

Completed projects are due back to the library by July 5.

In addition to the Tiny Art Show, teens and adults can participate in paint and take programs this week. The teen paint and take is Wednesday, June 15, starting at 3:30 p.m., while the adult program is Thursday, June 16, starting at 5:30 p.m.

And there will be two art camps next week, with the first for kindergartners to third graders on June 20-21, and the other for fourth through sixth graders June 22-23. Art camps will take place from 1-3 p.m. all four days.

As with every service offered by the library, all art programs are free.
