THATCHER — The ongoing saga of the welcome to Thatcher signs continues.

Thatcher Town Manager Heath Brown gave the Town Council an update on one improvement.

“I don’t know if you ever noticed that the back side of the signs were not too attractive. So they’ve gone in and added steel to kind of cover some of the electric and the uglier parts,” Brown said.

However, Brown did he was informed it should about “two weeks” before the signs are lighted at night.

“Which I know is what I tell you every time we talk about the sign,” Brown said.

The signs were crafted by Robert Merrill, of Pima, who has also been contacted by the Safford Downtown Association for wayfinding signs.
