SAFFORD — The future of art will be on exhibit in two weeks.

Upward of 150 students are participating in the fifth annual Safford High School Student Art Show, May 5-7, from 6-7:30 p.m. each night, in the small gymnasium.

Art 1 students selected two pieces they created during the year for judging, while upper level students submitted three pieces for judging in any category.

“And then my seniors get a Senior Show. They get an entire spread, whatever they want to put in,” said Art instructor and show organizer Aubrey Zaugg. “They still get the same three — they pick three of their favorites to be judged — and the rest they just get to put up.”

Admission to the show is free and the public is invited to view the students’ work.

The Art Department is also asking for the public’s help with prizes for the show, which can be purchased on the Art Department’s Amazon Registry by clicking here.
