SAFFORD — To keep county vehicles on the road, amid skyrocketing gasoline prices, the Graham County Board of Supervisors were asked to spend some unbudgeted funds.
The board voted unanimously to spend $15,000 for a new unleaded fuel pump at the county’s Highway Yard.
The old pump, which was purchased in 1987, broke down in December and, due to its age, repair parts cannot be obtained.
“Thirty-nine years, that’s pretty good,” said Supervisor Clay Mack. “The new one will probably only last four or five years.”
Eaton Sales and Service of Phoenix will provide and install the new pump.
