GRAHAM COUNTY — Two people escaped injury when their vehicle rolled on its side Monday.
Graham County Sheriff’s deputies reported the single-vehicle accident occurred at nearly 6:30 p.m. on Layton Road, just west of Grandma Drive.
The driver said she was traveling at 45 miles an hour, when her Jeep hit a rock as she was navigating a downhill curve, causing her to lose control and the vehicle to end up on its passenger side.
Deputies said there were indicators the vehicle may have been traveling faster than 45; however, there were no signs of impairment and both the driver and passenger said the driver was not using her phone or otherwise distracted at the time of the accident.
Both of the vehicle’s occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
