SAFFORD — Families are invited to join the Eastern Arizona Hispanic Heritage Corporation party this weekend.

The Hispanic Heritage Fiesta will take place Saturday, July 27, from 5-11 p.m., at the Ag Building at Graham County fairgrounds.

The party starts with performances by Mariachi Sonido de Mexico and Arizona Folklorico Dance Co., from 5-7 p.m.

“The dancers are choreographed to the music of the mariachi,” said Lupe Munoz, Hispanic Heritage secretary-treasurer. “It is going to be very, very nice, very colorful and very joyful. It’s going to be the traditional Mexican songs and dance.”

From 7-11 p.m., the band Siempre will take the stage. Siempre is based out of Bayard, N.M., and features lead singer Keana Huerta.

Admission is $25, $35 for couples. All proceeds will be used to fund scholarships to Eastern Arizona College.

“Our scholarships are open to anybody. All we are is a clearing house,” said Bob Rivera, Hispanic Heritage board member. “We ask for donations and sponsorships for us to donate to the Eastern Arizona College Foundation.”
