SAFFORD — The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to prepare for lane restrictions and delays on north- and southbound U.S. Highway 191, between mileposts 132 and 135, as crews begin work on a new passing lane project in Graham County.

Construction will take place daily from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 6 a.m. to noon on Friday beginning Monday, July 20.

Throughout the project, drivers can expect:

  • Reduced speed limit to 55 mph within the project area during work hours
  • Shoulder closures, lane closures, flagging operations, and other traffic restrictions at various times

Drivers should allow extra travel time, use caution, be prepared to slow down and merge safely when approaching and traveling through all work zones.
