On June 23, 2024 at approximately 9:37 P.M. Safford Police responded to 326 S. 8th Ave in reference to a report of shots fired. Upon arrival to the scene Officers were advised by multiple witnesses that a victim had been shot. Officers located the victim, identified as Adam Avalos of Safford, deceased in the parking area of a residence. Officers and Deputies from Safford, Thatcher, Pima, and Graham County Sheriff’s Office secured the scene for further investigation.
Currently Chezerae Arrellin Jr. is a person of interest in this case and has not been located as of this release. Anyone with information regarding this incident are asked to contact Safford Police through Graham County Dispatch at 928-428-0808. The area of 326 S. 8th Ave. is an active crime scene and certain areas are not available to access.
