Notice for 2024 Graham County school governing board elections

SAFFORD — The Graham County School Superintendent hereby notifies the registered voters of Graham County that candidate packets for School District Governing Boards are now available.

Candidate packets may be picked up in the Graham County School Superintendent’s Office at 921 Thatcher Blvd., Safford, Ariz. The office is open Monday to Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

Candidates must file a Statement of Interest prior to collecting any signatures. This document is included in the candidate packet.

Candidates may file nonpartisan nomination paperwork beginning June 10, and the deadline file is 5 p.m. July 8, for the Nov. 5 General Election.

All school district governing board nomination paperwork must be filed in the Graham County School Superintendent’s Office. All of the other special district nomination packets such as the Graham County Community (Eastern Arizona College) District Governing Board, fire districts, hospital districts, etc. are available in the Graham County Board of Supervisor’s Office, also located at 921 W. Thatcher Blvd., Safford.

All terms are for four years unless otherwise noted. The following seats expire Dec. 31:

● Bonita School District #16:  One seat

● Ft. Thomas Unified School District #7:  Three seats

● Gila Institute for Technology #2 (GIFT):  Two Graham County seats – Safford, Thatcher   

● Klondyke School District #9:  Two seats

● Pima Unified School District #6: Three seats

● Safford Unified School District #1: Three seats

● Solomon School District #5: Two seats

● Thatcher Unified School District #4:  Three seats
