SAFFORD — An area dam that was constructed in 1958 has been selected for upgrades.
The United States Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service and the City of Safford are planning improvements to the Graveyard Wash Flood Retarding Structure to bring the structure into compliance with current safety design criteria.
Technical studies are under way and the USDA is currently soliciting public comments about issues and resource sensitivities. An online meeting where more public comment can be offered will take place Wednesday, April 20, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The Zoom.us meeting I.D. is 857 0079 6656
