SAFFORD — A yard sale this weekend will help me seeking recovery from addiction transition into a better life.

Money raised will be used to fund programs at the house of Hope Sober Living Facility.

“There at the house, we’re starting classes, like a checking account class — how to balance a check book — communication skills, and we had a lady go in and teach crock pot meals, teaching them how to do all that stuff,” said Jason Baca, House of Hope manager. “A lot of time, while you’re either coming out of prison or active addiction, that wasn’t a priority, obviously. And now you’re trying to do something different, and you’ve got to know what different is.”

The House of Hope Benefit Yard Sale is Friday and Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, at the facility located at 608 W. 1st St. in Safford.
