Authorities responded to a report of attempted car theft Tuesday morning in the Thatcher area. The victims said that two of their cars had been tampered with but nothing was taken from either vehicle. The vehicles were left unlocked, and during the night someone broke the plastic covering on the steering column to access the wires in an attempt to hot wire them. Some of the wires had been damaged by the attempt. The homeowner said they would be installing cameras to capture any further incidents.
