SAFFORD — For the second year in a row, Graham County residents will take to the street to conduct a May Day protest of the Trump Administration.
Graham County Democratic Committee announced participation in the national May Day 2026: Workers Over Billionaires protest.
The protest will take place Friday, May 1, from 8-10 a.m., at the corner of 20th Avenue and U.S. Highway 70.
Mobilize, the group behind the national protest, wrote the protest demands, “Tax the rich so our families, not their fortunes, come first. No unchecked federal power. Expand democracy, not corporate power. Hands off our vote. Together we will be flexing our collective muscle in a tremendous day of power; showing our unity through protest. Join us as together we celebrate May 1 through action.”
A New York Times poll released Thursday showed 58 percent of respondents disapprove of President Trump, while just 39 percent approve of the job he’s doing.
The only time he has had a worse disapproval rating was immediately following the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.
