Woman arrested after rummaging through house and refusing to leave

On Saturday at approximately 7:35 pm a man called the Sheriff’s department and said that his wife was home alone with their 8 month old baby when an unknown woman walked into the home and started rummaging through things. The man’s wife had reportedly been asleep in bed when she heard somebody in the house, even going into the baby’s room. The intruder was told to leave but refused.

When law enforcement arrived the woman was sitting on the couch. Responding officers recognized her from multiple prior contacts. The intruder is known to have serious mental health issues.

A deputy took the woman outside to talk to her while other officers interviewed the residents. The woman reportedly made strange, irrational statements while talking to the deputy. She claimed that she had knocked on the door and “Marie” had let her in to help take care of the baby. There was nobody at the residence by that name. She reportedly went on rambling about seeds and vampires.

The home’s residents said that they had never seen the woman before and wanted to press charges. The intruder was arrested with potential charges of Burglary, Theft and Disorderly Conduct.
