Waynette Brasher Garrett

Waynette Brasher Garrett, age 72 and a resident of Safford, passed from this life Tuesday evening, October 15, 2024, at her residence, with her beloved husband, Jim, at her bedside.

Waynette was born September 6, 1952, in Carlsbad, New Mexico, the daughter of Wayne and Joy Brasher. At a young age her family relocated to Douglas, Arizona, where she spent her adolescent years later moving to McNeal and then to the Gila Valley, settling in Safford. Waynette worked hard thoughtout her lifetime to provide for her family as she owned and operated a floral shop, a feed store and later in her life she served as and emergency room technician at the Copper Queen Community Hospital in Bisbee. Following her retirement in 2009, Waynette could often be found on her front porch enjoying the fresh air, watching wildlife, especially the cardinals that would come visit each day. She and her husband, Jim, also enjoyed spending time in Ruidoso, New Mexico. In the summer of 2024, Waynette was diagnosed with brain cancer. Her spirit and love for family and life was never more present than the last few days and weeks her on earth. Waynette will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.

Waynette is survived by: her beloved husband of 31 years, Jim, of Safford; her daughter, Kori Howard (Danny), of Vail; her son, Clinton (Sacha Wilharm), of Benson, a sister, Vickie Brasher, of Safford; and her brother, Larry Brasher (Anne), of Douglas. Waynette was predeceased by: her mother, Joy; her father, Wayne; her son, Larry Lynn; and a grandson, Clinton.

Private family services will be conducted at a later date.
