SAFFORD — There’s just a week left to register to vote in the upcoming primary election.

The last day to register is July 5, with early voting for the Aug. 2 primary starting July 6.

Voters who register as Republican or Democrat will receive that party’s ballot; voters who do not select a party will have their choice of ballots between Republican, Democrat or just the local non-partisan election.

Voters in all five communities in Graham and Greenlee counties — Safford. Thatcher, Pima, Clifton and Duncan — will be asked to select members of the city/town council, while the county elections focus on the positions of the courts.

There are also partisan primaries for Congress, U.S. Senate, Governor, state Representative and state Senator, Secretary of State, Mine Inspector, Treasurer, state Attorney General and state Superintendent of Public Education.

To register online, go to Arizona Voter Registration – ServiceArizona – ADOT & MVD Services.
