SAFFORD — The Graham County Health Department announced it is one of the first counties in Arizona to move into Phase 1B of the coronavirus vaccine rollout.

The Health Department anticipates being complete with Phase 1A by mid-February, earlier than the anticipated mid-Spring completion target.

The Moderna vaccine requires two inoculations, spread 28 to 30 days apart.

Phase 1A prioritized health-care and emergency medical service workers, and staff and residents at long-term care facilities.

Phase 1B will prioritize adults 75 and older; education and child-care workers; law enforcement, corrections staff and other first responders; adults with risk conditions in congregate settings; and essential workers.

Phase 1C, which will run through the Spring, will focus on adult 65 and older, adults of any age with high-risk medical conditions, and adults living in congregate settings.
