DUNCAN — Want to be on a Town Council without having to run for office? The Town of Duncan wants to hear from you.

The town is accepting applications from residents interested in serving a four-year term on the council.

Susan Rios dropped out of the race due to personal issues; however, she did not leave the race before another candidate could qualify for the ballot.

With just two on the ballot for two seats, Rios and incumbent Deborah Mendelsohn were elected to the council, with Rios the top vote-getter.

Applications from Duncan town residents who wish to serve a full four-year term are being accepted at Town Hall. Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3. The Town Council will consider the applicants at the Sept. 9 meeting.

To qualify, an applicant must be at least 18 years old, a registered voter and a resident of the town for at least one year.
