San Carlos Apache Reservation dealing with multiple wildfires

SAN CARLOS — Seven wildfires are continuing to burn on the San Carlos Apache Reservation.

In Gila County, The Rock fire is at 4,317 acres and 75-percent contained and the Allen Trap fire is 1,654 acres and 80-percent contained, while the Sycamore fire is 35 acres and Nip fire is 20 acres and there is no containment on the latter two.

In Graham County, the Buckhorn fire is 1,006 acres and is 51-percent contained, while the Warm Springs fire is 197 acres and the Berry fire 105 acres, with neither showing any containment.

Because of the ongoing fire activity on the reservation, San Carlos Apache Forest Resources has rescinded all home burning permits.
